Kumamoto oysters, originally taken from Kumamoto, Japan but brought to the US. These oysters are cultivated in the tidal waters along the Puget Sound on the Washington coast. Kumamoto oysters have a slightly fruity flavor with a light brininess that aficionados love and is a great introduction oyster if you are new to oysters.
